The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations Announce The Launch of Two New Philanthropic Funding Priorities

THE ARTHUR VINING DAVIS FOUNDATIONS ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCH OF TWO NEW PHILANTHROPIC FUNDING PRIORITIES

Jacksonville, FL – The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations are pleased to announce the launch of two new program areas: “Environmental Engagement, Stewardship, & Solutions,” and “Palliative Care.”  Part of the Foundations’ 2017-2022 strategic plan, these two new programs are additions to the continued historic commitments of the Foundations: Private Higher Education, Public Educational Media, and Interfaith Leadership & Religious Literacy.

This month, the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations launched the new grant program priorities in partnership with leading national organizations doing work in either the environment or palliative care fields, including:

Environmental Engagement, Stewardship, & Solutions

Chesapeake Bay Foundation

Cornell Lab of Ornithology

Gulf of Maine Research Institute

Marine Biological Laboratory

Marine Conservation Institute

Mission Blue

Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute

Mote Marine Laboratory

Ocean Conservancy

Sea Education Association

The Nature Conservancy

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution

Woods Hole Research Center

World Wildlife Fund


Palliative Care

Ariadne Labs

Boston Children’s Hospital & Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Center to Advance Palliative Care

Emory University School of Medicine

National Palliative Care Research Center

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center 

These organizations, called AVDF Designated Partners, will be the exclusive grantees of the Foundations in these program areas from 2018-2020.  Conceived as a true partnership, the selected organizations will continue to provide the Foundations with guidance and thought leadership about trends in philanthropy in their respective fields.
