WHAT'S NEW
-
In its February 2010 meeting, the Board approved eligibility for members of the Work College Consortium within the category of our Private Higher Education program that focuses on schools meeting the needs of underserved populations. These colleges will be able to compete for support with Appalachian, Historically Black, Native American and similar institutions with a significant majority of underserved students.
- While maintaining the long held principle of “priority of the president” in the higher education and religion programs, the Board approved at its February 2009 meeting language that states that requests in these two programs will be “evaluated on the overall quality of the institution and the relative impact that a proposed grant would have on the educational experience."
- New requirements are now in place for those applying to the Private Higher Education and Religion programs. Please see the revised guidelines and supplemental application forms for each of these program areas.

- On February 5, 2010, twelve grants totaling $2.47 million were approved by the Board.
