The Management as a Calling program at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, supported by AVDF, was recognized as “highly commended” in the 2025 Financial Times Responsible Business Education Awards. The honor highlights the program’s innovative approach to preparing future business leaders to align commercial success with a broader societal mission.

Led by Professor Andrew Hoffman—author of the book Management as a Calling—the year-long program invites business students to explore their professional path as a form of service, grounded in purpose and ethical responsibility. Through coursework and mentorship, students are encouraged to pursue careers that not only generate economic value but also contribute meaningfully to society.

This recognition follows the program’s earlier accolade, the 2024 UN PRME Faculty Teaching Award, which honors outstanding contributions to responsible management education worldwide.
