Project IMPACT (Internships, Meaningful Practice, and Career Transitions) integrates two mission-critical initiatives: Curriculum & Careers (C&C) and the Problems of Practice (PoP) courses program. PoP courses already connect students with community partners and employers through immersive projects. With every Clark major offering or in the process of developing a PoP, they are a natural pathway to internships. Project IMPACT will support PoP redesign as an internship on-ramp, where students will tackle real-world problems posed by partners in the PoP class and then have the opportunity to continue working with the partner in grant-funded internships. To maximize student success, the project will also provide Skills Studios; short design-thinking courses that build reflection, communication, and career readiness. Together, these activities will expand funded internships, enhance student preparation, strengthen faculty and departmental capacity to offer applied learning opportunities, and deepen employer/community partnerships. The goal: enhance academic outcomes and career readiness by ensuring 100% of Clark students have equal opportunity to succeed in meaningful internship experiences.
