Grant Calendar - Key Dates
AVDF considers proposals from eligible institutions in two phases. In the first phase, institutions must submit a letter of inquiry to the Foundations' program staff for review. If the project is invited to phase two, the institution must complete a grant proposal on or before the November 1 deadline. Grant proposals received on or before the November 1 deadline will be considered for funding in the following calendar year.
Annual Phase One: July 1 - October 15
July 1: AVDF begins accepting letters of inquiry for the following grant year
August 15 - October 15: AVDF program staff conducts ongoing review of letters of inquiry
October 15: Submission deadline for letters of inquiry. All materials must be submitted by 11:59 pm (ET) to be eligible for review.
Phase Two: For Invited Projects Only
August 15 - November 1: AVDF accepts submission of grant proposals
November 1: Deadline for submission of grant proposals to be considered for funding in the following calendar year. All materials must be submitted by 11:59 pm (ET) to be eligible for review.
Please note: Review of letters of inquiry and grant proposals in Public Educational Media will be ongoing, regardless of the deadlines listed above.
Grant Review Decisions
Please understand that we may not communicate any decision regarding the status of a proposal for several months. Following a thorough and comprehensive review of each proposal, our program staff will manage the scheduling of competitive proposals for presentation at one of our three board meetings in 2019. We will be in touch with an update on the status of all proposals as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
