During this season of increased conflict and polarization, there are few opportunities within university communities for productive dialogue and relationship building between students of different faith beliefs. This project will further Veritas’s mission and vision by promoting more interfaith dialogue and partnership on university campuses. Led by student Forum planning teams, Veritas will host 12 Forums and 12 collaborative gatherings in partnership with student campus groups of different religious beliefs or other interfaith initiatives on campus. Through these events, Veritas will serve as a convener of generous discussions on life’s big questions that lead to further discussion, understanding, and appreciation of one another’s religious viewpoints. Veritas also will equip Forum planning students for interfaith leadership through student training events, including the flagship student conference, Veritas Weekend, where they will receive training targeted at engaging generously across lines of difference with peers of different faiths and worldviews. These critical efforts have the potential to create communities with a vision for productive discourse across faith traditions and to shape students’ engagement with others throughout the rest of their lives.
